Zion Williamson Says "High Chance" He Will Declare For NBA Draft

The new is a surprise to almost no one.

In an Elite Eight matchup for the ages, the Duke Blue Devils lost in heartbreaking fashion to the Michigan State Spartans. With the score at 68-67, RJ Barrett missed a free throw which would have tied up the game with just five seconds remaining. The Spartans were able to win possession the ball on the ensuing inbound and ran out the clock to eliminate Duke from the tournament. While the loss was still fresh in the mind Duke superstar Zion Williamson, the media still made sure to ask the player about his future.

Williamson is expected to go first overall in this year’s draft, although he’d have to declare for the draft in order to be eligible. To the surprise no one, Zion seems pretty sure that he’ll be NBA bound next year.

“I’m not going to make it ficial,” Zion explained, noting that he wanted to talk to his parents first. “There’s obviously a high chance that I’m going to enter the draft. A lot is obviously going through our minds right now … this group will probably never play together again.”

At 6’7″ and 285 pounds, Zion dominated college basketball this year and was considered one the most exciting college ballplayers the last decade. Time will tell whether or not he’ll be able to transfer that game to the pros.
