Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys have won hearts as hip-hop’s low key favorite power couple, though they tend to avoid the limelight. That’s not to say they duck it completely, as evidenced by their latest Met Gala appearance last night. While the iconic Gala encourages celebrities to go the extra mile where fashion is concerned, some use the opportunity to showcase an understated and elegant look. Alicia Keys and Swizzy opted for the latter, donning matching green outfits from Carolina Herrera, designed by creative director Wes Gordon.

With the theme for this year’s Gala being “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” it seems like a tenuous connection can be made between the green color and the general color palette “nature.” Either way, the subtlety Swizzy’s attire is admirable, and Alicia Keys proves that she can still steal a show with relative ease.
