Remy Ma’s Sister Arrested on Gun Charges

Remy Ma’s sister Remeesha Alesia Blount was arrested on Monday (Feb. 19) in connection with a shooting that reportedly took place on Friday (Feb. 16) in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Blount, 27, has been accused shooting a woman and then firing bullets into a vehicle in the parking lot the local End Zone bar. That vehicle, carrying three other women, then hit the woman who had been shot, while trying to flee the scene, according to The News & Observer.

The alleged victim who was shot was taken to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, where she remained in fair condition as Tuesday (Feb. 20).

Blount has been charged with “one count assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, three counts assault with the weapon with intent to kill, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and discharging a firearm in the city,” as per the report.

This isn’t Blount’s first run-in with the law. Prior charges include assault with a deadly weapon, assault by pointing a gun, and shooting a gun inside city limits. She is now being held without bail, following a magistrate’s orders.

Remy Ma, who served several years in prison for a 2007 shooting, has not spoken publicly about her sister’s alleged incident. The rapper’s forthcoming album 7 Winters & 6 Summers is set to focus on her time behind bars.

In 2016, she opened up about what the album would include during an interview with Rap-Up. “The people that want to hear that journey, from point A to point B, and the growth,” she said, “I think that they’ll be very happy.”
