According to Page Six, this could come to an end in the near future. This idea livestreaming sets became new to Instagram and apparently, it’s causing complications within their deals with music publishers. “The product is being used in a way that it hasn’t been used before],” an Instagram insider said “We’re looking at the relationship with partnerships with the music industry and Instagram users] on all sides, and all things are factored in.”

Short snippets are accepted but DJs are playing full songs. Some them have been flagged such as Marjorie “DJ Mad Marj” Gubelmann. She revealed that she kept getting booted from spinning on her livestreams.  “I’ll keep going until we finish,” she said. “I’m going to turn it f before they turn me f.”

IG has since posted guidelines for their live streams with one rule pointing out that “people also have access to a library custom music and sound effects at no cost using parent company] Facebook’s Sound Collection.”
