The Hip Hop community has been mourning the loss XXXTENTACION following his unexpected shooting death earlier this week.
X’s friend and collaborator Yung Bans has honored the late rapper with a new track titled “So Long My Friend (XXXTentacion Tribute).” The Otxhello and Danny Wolf-produced tune is just over two minutes long and starts with a audio recording X saying, “Tell these fuck niggas, boot me up, pipe up. Shout out to Bans and them.”
Bans first teased the track to Instagram Wednesday (June 20), captioning the track’s cover photo X with “I hope this helps get y’all through.” The same day, he announced a June 27 release date his forthcoming project, Young Bans Vol 5.
Other artists who have paid tribute include Ayo & Teo with a video titled “Fallen Angels” and Juice WRLD with Too Soon, a playlist two songs dedicated to X.
