After dropping the funeral chic video for “Sally Walker” in March, Iggy Azalea strikes it rich in the extravagant video for her latest single “Started.”
The blonde bombshell plays a gold digger who marries a wealthy old man in the Colin Tilley-directed clip, which opens at their wedding. She is seen pushing her sugar daddy through the halls their mansion in a wheelchair. While lying in bed with him and their many dogs, she gets the idea to poison him after watching an infomercial for Die Slow Cake Co. Easy Bake Cakes starring drag superstar Trixie Mattel.
After killing f her husband with the “gold digger ganache” dessert, she inherits his fortune with the help her realtor, played by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, who also appeared in the “Sally Walker” video. Iggy then gets right to work, redecorating her new pad and throwing a party with friends.
“I started from the bottom and now I’m rich,” she raps on the come-up anthem, produced by J. White. “I got in my bag and I ain’t looked back since / I started to say sorry, but fuck that shit / You started out hatin’, now you love my drip.”
Iggy is now readying her new album In My Defense, which is due on EMPIRE later this year.
