They were father and son on television, and now they’ve reunited on social media. Tyler James Williams and Terry Crews starred opposite each other on the hit series Everybody Hates Chris, and Crews’s recent remarks about white and black supremacy have prompted Williams to come forward. “Defeating White supremacy without White people creates Black supremacy. Equality is the truth,” Terry Crews wrote. “Like it or not, we are all in this together.” Tyler James Williams lovingly responded.

“Terry, brother, I know your heart and you know I have love for you and always will. No one is calling 4 black supremacy & the narrative that we are hurts our cause & our people. We’re just vigorously vetting our ‘allies’ because time & time again they have failed us in the past,” Tyler James Williams tweeted. “Our people are tired white people who put on a good face a claim they ‘arnt racist’ while operating and benefiting from the privilege a clearly racist system. We’re not trying to do this alone. We KNOW we can’t. But we refuse to have allies who won’t go the distance.”

Williams made sure to end his series tweets by saying that his intention wasn’t to call out his former co-star, but he didn’t want misinformation to become a distraction from the narrative. Check out Tyler James Williams responding to Terry Crews below.
