Travis Scott Gets Key to Missouri City

Travis Scott is a “Big Shot” in his hometown.

Shortly after welcoming his daughter Stormi with girlfriend Kylie Jenner, La Flame got the key to Missouri City, Texas on Saturday (Feb. 10) as part an annual Black History Month celebration.

“I’m shaking, actually. This is crazy,” said the Elkins High School grad, recalling memories around the local community. “This city, outside Houston, it’s like one the best parts the whole world. This place right here gave me all my ideas. It’s still the driving focus what I’m doing now with music and design, and whatever I’m doing. I owe everything to the city.”

Houston Rockets star James Harden was on hand for the celebration, which Scott said had a particularly meaningful impact on his life. “Today is better than any day I’ve ever lived,” he said. “This is better than any award show I’ve ever been to. This is actually my first award ever and I couldn’t be more proud.”

Now, Travis is looking to put that pride in his music. The rapper is currently working on AstroWorld, a Houston-based follow-up to Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.
