Nineteen years ago, Eminem, Pro, Swifty McVay, Kon Artis, Kuniva, and Bizarre — collectively known as D12 — came together to deliver their major label studio debut Devil’s Night. Featuring production from Eminem, Kon Artis, and Dr. Dre, the twisted classic became an instant fan favorite, especially for those deeply enthralled by Em’s post-Marshall Mathers LP trajectory.

Despite Slim being one the biggest rappers in the world at the time, Devil’s Night placed a wider spotlight on the rest the members, all strong emcees forged by Detroit’s competitive hip-hop landscape. For Swifty McVay, the most recent addition to the crew, Devil’s Night found him stealing the show on several standout tracks, including “Pimp Like Me” and “Instigator,” the latter which featured two verses from the sinister emcee.
Today, Swift took a moment to reflect on the day the album released. As he tells it, D12 took to the streets Time Square to promote the album on the ground level. “On This Day 19 Years Ago D12 Walked Through Manhattan NY With Picket Signs REPPING/Promoting Their Classic Debut D12 DEVILS NIGHT LP,” he writes, on his Twitter page you can follow here. “Which Went to sale 372,000 It’s FirstWeek An Ended 10 Times Certified Platinum World Wide.
