R. Kelly Arrested On Federal Sex Crime Charges

Chicago, IL – R. Kelly has reportedly been arrested in his hometown Chicago. According to NBC 4 New York, the embattled R&B star was taken into custody on Thursday (July 11) by NYPD detectives and Homeland Security Investigation agents on federal sex crime charges, including sex trafficking.

More details on the case are expected to be revealed on Friday (July 12).

In February, Kelly was charged with aggravated sexual abuse involving four women. Three those women were minors at the time the alleged abuse.

The multiplatinum-selling artist pleaded not guilty and was released from Chicago’s Cook County Jail after posting bail.

The spotlight started to shine heavily on Kelly following the release Lifetime’s docu-series Surviving R. Kelly.
