Oluwatoyin "Toyin" Salau, Black Lives Matter Activist, Found Dead


After going missing one week ago, Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau has been found dead as a murder victim.

The 19-year-old Black Lives Matter activist went missing last week and was found dead along with 75-year-old Victoria Sims, an AARP volunteer who had also been reported missing.

Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Salau was trending on social media this morning as people mourned her loss. Toyin was found in the 2100 block Monday Road in Tallahassee, Florida.

Toyin was very vocal about the current fight to end systemic racism, attending numerous protests in Florida. Before she went missing, she had sent out tweets about being attacked.

“I was molested in Tallahassee, Florida by a black man this morning at 5:30 on Richview and Park Ave. The man fered to give me a ride to find someplace to sleep and recollect my belongings from a church I refuged to a couple days back to escape unjust living conditions,” she said.

Aaron Glee, Jr., 49, fits Toyin’s description, and he has been arrested for the double murder.

Her death was confirmed by a woman named Ashley who has been assisting Toyin’s mother.

“I’m sorry to inform everyone about this but Toyin is no longer with us,” she wrote on Twitter.
