Odell Beckham Jr Vows To Make The Browns The New Patriots

OBJ is ready to win some championships in Cleveland.

Back in March, Odell Beckham Jr. was traded to the Cleveland Browns in a shocking move that had New York Giants fans both sad and confused. The trade was one that many who were close to the team saw coming as OBJ just wasn’t gelling with the higher-ups the team anymore. Now though, Beckham Jr. seems happier than ever to be a part a squad that not only wants him but has quite a bit talent that could translate in a potential playf birth.

Beckham Jr. was at the Met Gala last night where he spoke to GQ about his new team and how he wants to turn them into the next great franchise.

“I plan on being there for the next five years and trying to bring as many championships there as possible,” Beckham said. “Turning the Browns] into the new Patriots.”

The Browns wide receiver also had praise for quarterback Baker Mayfield who will be slinging passes to OBJ this season. Mayfield was one the frontrunners for the Rookie the Year award last year thanks to his dominant play.

“I would say he’s next, but I feel like he’s now,” Beckham said. “He’s Brett Favre – he’s going to be a Hall Famer.”

OBJ also explained that he’s happier than ever and that his move from New York was a good thing as they just weren’t a good fit anymore.
