Alice Cutter, her partner, and two others were convicted being part a terrorist organization.
According to CNN, a former Miss Hitler entrant, Alice Cutter, along with her boyfriend Mark Jones, and two others, Garry Jack and Connor Scothern, have been convicted for being a part a terrorist organization. The four people were deemed members National Action, a neo-Nazi group that has been banned under UK’s laws against terrorism. In 2016, the UK described the group as being “virulently racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic.”
Cutter, a previous entrant for Miss Hitler, was a member the group that would meet regularly to discuss radical extremist beliefs. Once they were deemed a terrorist group, they would hold secret meetings to discuss plans to launch a race war, recruit members, and glorify Hitler. Cutter has said that she wasn’t a member the group, even though she was seen at protests where signs reading, “Hitler was right” were held.
The judge said that she was a “trusted confidante” the group, though didn’t have a leadership role. The judge also added that she was in a relationship with Jones who had a “significant role in the continuation the organization” after they were banned.
Alice Cutter was sentenced to three years in prison while Mark Jones was hit with a five-and-a-half year sentence. Jack was sentenced to four-and-a-half years and Scotchern, 18 months.
“Terrorists and extremists use this kind ideology to create discord, distrust and fear among our communities and we strive to counter this. I would encourage people to report hate crime to us and it will be taken seriously,” Detective Chief Superintendent Kenny Bell, head West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit, said in a statement.
