As an artist fighting on the from lines criminal justice and prison reform, Meek Mill has once again used his talent to bring awareness to issues plaguing marginalized communities. Earlier this month, Meek Mill and his girlfriend Milan welcomed their first child together, a son. While the happy parents are adjusting to having their little one around, Meek has also been utilizing his time in quarantine by putting in work.

On Wednesday (May 27), social media has been ablaze with tweets, posts, comments, videos, and commentary against injustice. The recent deaths  Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd have poured gasoline onto an already sparked outrage, resulting in protests in various cities across America. Meek decided to take his frustrations and communicate them through song, so the rapper shared a snippet a little something on Wednesday evening.

It’s unclear whether this is a freestyle or rhymes he’s carefully written, but he shared that his work outside music has caused him to neglect his art. “I been busy tryna free the jails ain’t been in the booth a lot!” he penned in the caption.
