Mary J. Blige Sets New Billboard Record

Although Mary J. Blige ficially let Hollywood know she’s arrived for the long haul, the Queen Hip Hop Soul is still excelling in her first forte.

According to Billboard, Blige is now the record holder for most Top 10 hits on the Adult R&B Songs Chart, surpassing the late Gerald Levert, with whom she was previously tied with.

Her July 2018 single, “Only Love” was the deal breaker, making it her 23rd Top 10 hit on the airplay chart.

With 56 Adult R&B Songs chart entries (another record in its own right), Queen Mary’s initial chart placement dates back to 1993 the song “Love No Limit.” The tally also includes six Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits.
