Lil Baby Says He Was Unaware Kanye West Wanted to Work with Him

Lil Baby is responding to Kanye West’s claim that he turned down a collaboration.

During his Twitter rant, Ye revealed that Baby is his favorite rapper, but alleged that the “We Paid” MC refused to work with him. “Lil baby my favorite rapper but won’t do a song wit me,” he said during Tuesday’s tweetstorm.

But that’s apparently news to Lil Baby, who said he had no knowledge that Kanye wanted to work with him. “Nobody told me ye was trying to get me on a song,” he wrote on Wednesday, adding, “that’s fucced up.”

Lil Baby can be seen on the August cover Rolling Stone. In the interview, the 25-year-old Quality Control signee discussed the Black Lives Matter protests and his own experience with racial injustice.

“I’ve been a victim police brutality,” he told the magazine. “I’ve been in prison where white ficers control you. I’ve been in a court system where white judges give you a different time than they would give someone white. There have been times I had a physical altercation with an ficer, and he then grabbed me and took me to a room where there’s no camera. We have a physical altercation and left me in a room for about an hour. I’m in there yelling and screaming. I’m so accustomed to it, we don’t even make it no big deal.”

Baby continues to rise above adversity and dominate the charts. His album My Turn remains No. 4 on the Billboard 200, while his protest anthem “The Bigger Picture” peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100.
