Sadly, Hollywood experienced another major loss today with the passing yet another talented and iconic movie star, Doris Day. Doris Day was a notable icon amidst the Classical Hollywood film era with both a rich and successful twenty-year career as a movie actress. Her presence on screen and honey-dew voice encouraged her involvement in noteworthy films, musicals, comedies, and dramas. Of the latter, we count the song “Que Sera Sera” in addition movies Calamity Jane, Pillow Talk and Alfred Hitchcock’s The Man Who Knew Too Much. Along with honing her status as a film legend in the 50s and 60s, she moved onto becoming a talk-show host with The Doris Day Show which aired from the late 1960s to the early 1970s.
