LeBron James & Lakers Not Divided In Light Of Dwight Howard’s Stance

Not every Lakers player is on board with returning to the court.

A lot happened in the NBA over the weekend as it was revealed that Kyrie Irving led the charge in trying to get players to boycott the return the NBA. Irving believes returning to action would take time away from the social movements going on right now and he would rather not be a distraction. However, many others disagree with Irving including the likes LeBron James and Austin Rivers

While LeBron wants to go play, his teammate Dwight Howard doesn’t agree. On Saturday, Howard released a statement in support Kyrie, noting that we need to fight for social change before thinking about basketball again. According to Dave McMenamin ESPN, this differing opinions has not caused a divide in the locker room. In fact, two players said everyone is talking it out and looking for solutions.

The Lakers are an interesting case as they have one the best chances winning an NBA title. They are first in the Western Conference and if the season were to end without a champion, the Lakers campaign would have effectively been wasted.

Many players understand that the stakes are high in both the sports world, and the real world, so it will be interesting to see how they all decide to balance things out.
