Kodak Black Arrested On Weapons Charges Before Rolling Loud

Miami, FL – Kodak Black, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was arrested Saturday night (May 11) on weapons charges. He was apprehended prior to his scheduled performance at the 2019 Rolling Loud Festival, which took place at the Hard Rock Stadium.

The controversial rapper is facing state and federal charges following an investigation by U.S. Marshals, U.S. Bureau Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Miami-Dade Police Department’s North Side Gang Unit. According to the Miami Herald, U.S. Marshals called it an “extensive investigation.”

A photo Kodak in custody was posted on social media by WSVN reporter Brian Entin. Kodak’s attorney Bradford Cohen condemned law enforcement for making the image available to the public.

“I think the actions the police] in taking a photo him in the police station in handcuffs and selling it or giving it to WSVN is a disgusting display unpressionalism,” Cohen told The Sun-Sentinel.

Kodak’s latest arrest only adds to his legal troubles. Last month, he was arrested on drug and weapons charges in New York at the U.S. and Canada border. He is also awaiting trial on rape charges in South Carolina.
