Kanye West to Release New Album ‘Jesus Is King’ Next Month

Yeezus rises again.

Kim Kardashian took to Twitter on Thursday to reveal the tracklisting for what appears to be a new album from her husband Kanye West. The title “Jesus Is King” is written on a white piece paper along with 12 religious-themed track titles including “God Is,” “Baptized,” “Selah,” and “Sweet Jesus.” The date September 27th is written at the bottom.

Kim didn’t fer more details, only using the prayer hand emoji as a caption.

The album was seemingly inspired by Kanye’s weekly Sunday Service sessions, where he regularly performs gospel-tinged songs with a choir. One the tracks listed is “Water,” which Ye debuted during his special Sunday Service performance at Coachella in April. The spiritual song includes the lyrics: “Let your light reflect on me / Take the chlorine out conversation.”

It’s unclear if Kanye still plans to release his t-delayed album Yandhi, which was originally set for release on Sept. 29, 2018, almost one year to the date Jesus Is King. It will be Kanye’s first project since 2018’s ye.

The rapper has become extremely passionate about his faith. Earlier this year, it was reported that he was looking to open a permanent house worship. He and Kim even named their youngest son Psalm, a biblical name that means a sacred song or hymn.
