JAY-Z Beams About Fatherhood

JAY-Z and David Letterman’s “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” interview is proving to be quite an eye-opener.

Hov celebrated hip-hop greats and shared his mother’s coming-out story in recent previews. Now, he provides a glimpse into his life as a father in a newly-released teaser.

“I feel grateful every day,” he says. “I wake up, look around, look at my kids, they’re healthy.”

In order to paint “a picture how healthy” they are “at this present time,” Hov shared a story about 6-year-old Blue Ivy. “I told her to get in the car the other day because she was asking a thousand questions and we had to leave for school,” he said. “We’re driving and then, I hear a little voice say], ‘Dad, I didn’t like when you told me to get in the car, the way you told me,’ — she’s six — ‘It hurt my feelings.’ ”

Laughing, JAY-Z explained the joy that brought him. “That’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever said to me,” he recalls saying in response.

Blue is the oldest JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s three children. Last year, Queen Bey gave birth to twins Rumi and Sir Carter. Today, the billion-dollar couple celebrates their tenth anniversary, while preparing for their upcoming joint “OTR II Tour,” which kicks f in June.

JAY-Z’s episode “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” airs Friday (April 6).
