George Floyd Autopsy: Underlying Conditions "Likely" Caused Death

The autopsy done on George Floyd revealed that he didn’t die asphyxiation although a private autopsy will be done in New York.

George Floyd’s death at the hands police has led to mass protests throughout the United States and specifically, in Minneapolis, Minnesota where the killing took place. Floyd’s death was caught on camera and in the video, you can see ficer Derek Chauvin keeping a knee on his neck while he struggles to breathe. Eventually, Floyd died but Chauvin kept his knee on his neck for absolutely no reason. Since then, Chauvin has been arrested and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.

Today, results from Floyd’s autopsy were made public and people are skeptical, to say the least. In the report, it states that “no physical findings that support a diagnosis traumatic asphyxia or strangulation.” The autopsy notes that Chauvin’s knee contributed to Floyd’s death although the alleged ficial cause was “his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system that] likely contributed to his death.”

Floyd’s family is appalled by the report and has already hired a private medical examiner in the form  Dr. Michael Baden to do an independent autopsy. It is being reported that Dr. Baden will have results for the public as next week.

Meanwhile, social media’s reaction to the report was quite strong as many were skeptical the findings. Floyd was pinned down for 8 minutes and 46 seconds so it’s hard to believe that he died from anything other than strangulation.

Check out some the reactions, below.
