HipHopDX Premiere – After making their triumphant return with “Suburban Base”earlier this month, Shredders is back with another new single called “Vanilla ISIS.”
The track comes from the Doomtree side project’s forthcoming Great Hits album, the follow-up to 2018’s Dangerous Jumps. Much like their work in Doomtree, Sims, P.O.S, Lazerbeak and Paper Tiger appear to have a knack for knocking out banger after banger. “Vanilla ISIS” is no exception.
“I remember making this one up at a cabin on one our Shredders writing retreats,” Lazerbeak told HipHopDX. “We’ll keep the basic beat rolling continuously for a few hours as Stef P.O.S] and Sims write while Paper and I fine-tune production stuff.
“Then there’s always this grand reveal as the dudes go to lay down their vocals and I remember completely losing my shit and dancing all over the kitchen when I first heard these raps. It sort feels like the ultimate Shredders jam to me. All four us bouncing around each other in perfect harmony.”
P.O.S added, “It’s one those beats where the first time a heard it I lost it. When the beat dropped on the hook a tore my whole face f and frisbee’d it across the room!”
