Hollywood, CA – Yelawolf isn’t afraid to speak his mind. During a conversation with HipHopDX, the 39-year-old explained why he hates white rappers and referenced G-Eazy, Post Malone and Asher Roth.
The Trunk Muzik spitter stated he wasn’t fond Roth’s music because he believed he sounded too similar to Eminem.
“I didn’t like Asher Roth’s shit, not hating on Asher’s style,” he said. “I thought he sounded too much like Marshall. Period.”
He continued, “It’s not just Hip Hop. If I hear something and I’ve already become attached to another artist as a fan, and I can’t get away from that artist that I fell in love with, every time that I listen to you, I can’t really become attached to what you do.”
Despite taking shots at G-Eazy, Machine Gun Kelly and Post Malone on “Bloody Sunday,” Yelawolf noted he has nothing but respect for them.
“No one that I dissed on ‘Bloody Sunday,’ I don’t respect,” he said. “All those guys are talented, which is why I did it. I’m not shooting a deer in a cage. That’s no fun.”
Although G-Eazy never issued a response, Yelawolf was hopeful he would.
“I expected bars out G-Eazy, to be honest,” he said. “If anyone was going to come, I thought G-Eazy was going to come.”
