Dr. Dre Celebrates Daughter’s Acceptance to USC

Dr. Dre is a proud father after his daughter’s acceptance to USC.

The rap mogul celebrated his daughter Truly Young’s admission to the University Southern California in a since-deleted Instagram post, while mocking the recent college admissions bribery scandal.

“My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!” said Dre alongside a photo him and Truly holding her certificate admission.

Dre’s celebrity friends congratulated him including T.I., Busta Rhymes, Timbaland, and Diddy, who all commented with the flexing arm emoji, while Nick Cannon wrote, “Absolute Success!!!”

But some in the comments were quick to point out that Dre, along with Jimmy Iovine, donated $70 million to USC in 2013 to establish the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts Technology and the Business Innovation.

According to PEOPLE, Dre and Iovine’s academy will provide a four-year program for undergraduates interested in marketing, computer science, visual design, and other arts. The first class 25 students enrolled in fall 2014, and its first on-campus building, named the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Hall, is scheduled to open this year.

Truly posted—and later deleted—the same photo on Instagram with a similar caption and revealed that she will be attending the USC School Cinematic Arts. “ALL MY HARD WORK PAID OFF. I’M GOING TO FILM SCHOOL,” she wrote on Instagram Stories.

USC has been in the headlines recently after 50 people, including actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, were indicted as part a bribery scam involving some the country’s most elite colleges.
