DJ Khaled Pays Tribute to Nipsey Hussle on ‘SNL’ Finale

Fresh f the release his new album, the Father Asahd capped f the season finale “SNL” with a medley hits featuring some his famous friends.

“They said I would never do ‘SNL,’ so I’m doing ‘SNL’ finale. Another one!” said Khaled before bringing out Lil Wayne and Big Sean for the first performance, “Jealous.”

He continued with “You Stay,” introducing his special guests one by one, including Jeremih, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, and J Balvin.

“Summer starts now!” declared Khaled.

Wearing a hoodie with Nipsey Hussle’s face, he kicked f his second performance the evening with SZA. Perched atop a piano, the TDE songstress joined Khaled for their OutKast-sampled collaboration “Just Us.” After lending her angelic vocals to the empowering anthem, Khaled took it to the streets with the Meek Mill-assisted “Weather the Storm.”

He closed out his “SNL” debut with “Higher,” dedicating it to the late Crenshaw legend. As a prile Nipsey’s face lit up the iconic 30 Rock stage, John Legend emerged on piano to deliver the rousing chorus.

“Long live Nipsey Hussle!” said Khaled while seven his collaborators stood alongside him during the touching finale.
