DeMarcus Cousins Pledges To Return This Season: "I Ain’t Plan On Sitting"

Cousins suffered a torn left quad back in Game 2 the first round.

DeMarcus Cousins hasn’t had very good luck when it comes to injuries. An Achilles injury kept him out the first half the season and in just his second playf game ever, he went down with a torn left quad injury. It was believed that Cousins wouldn’t be able to return this postseason but it appears his rehab has taken a turn for the better as he is now optimistic that he will come back.

“For me, my goal is I ain’t planning on sitting,” Cousins said according to ESPN ( The Undefeated). “I don’t know the reality it. But for me, that is not what I’m planning on doing… It’s definitely some type bad movie. But I think it will have a very nice ending. Just wait for it.”

Shortly after his injury, Cousins underwent an MRI where he learned the extent his injury. According to the team’s doctors, his injury does not require surgery and is significantly less serious than his Achilles injury. Cousins explained that despite being relieved, he’s annoyed at the timing it all.

“I was confident from the beginning once they told me the severity it,” Cousins said. “Talking to the doctors helped me understand the injury a little more. I started analyzing things and playing it out in my head. I’m going to take it day by day and work my ass f like I always do. Obviously, I was little more relieved that it wasn’t anything catastrophic like I’ve dealt with before. It sucks to be injured anyway on top that. The timing it really f—– me up the most. It’s a part this game, man. I’m not the first. I won’t be the last.”

The Warriors are currently up 2-1 on the Rockets in their second-round series with Game 4 going down tonight at 9:30 P.M. EST.
