Dipset’s Cam’ron is using the end the decade to bring some his best music back. Fresh f the release his latest album Purple Haze 2, the veteran rapper dropped a video for his latest single “Losing Weight 3.”
Although “Losing Weight 3” is a new track, the single is a revamped version his 2000 song “Losing Weight” featuring Prodigy. On the original song, Cam and Prodigy traded bars about the stresses street life. Now, Cam’ron raps alone, shouting out Hip Hop pioneers who paved the way for him before they each passed away.
The hook and sample “Losing Weight 3” are the same as the 2000 version, but the track is slowed down, making the new song sound more sober than its predecessor. This time around, Killa Cam rhymes about leaving his old life behind.
“Losing Weight 3” is the third single from Purple Haze 2. The album, which includes guest features from artists such as Max B and Jim Jones, is a sequel to his memorable 2004 album Purple Haze.
