Brockhampton Releases Morbidly NSFW "Sugar" Video

Brockhampton delivers a creative yet grizzly clip for their Ginger cut “Sugar” after teasing the video on social media.

The group’s Kevin Abstract, who directed the visual, ramped up the hype Twitter on Tuesday (December 10).

“30 MINUTES OMFG IM SO NERVOUS,” he tweeted.

The four-minute visual opens on a sex scene between a man and a woman that gets disrupted by an alien, who busts through the door and shoots the man in the head. As the woman cries out for him, Dom McLennon and Merlyn Wood enter wearing orange overalls and shake their heads in dismay.

Later, the clip finds Matt Champion in what appears to be hell as he dances with the devil, surrounded by flames. Abstract shows up stuck on the ceiling in green goo as the jello-like substance drips down to the floor, hitting Bearface in the cheek.

Following its arrival, Abstract shared what inspired the zany clip on Twitter.

“P.s. i was having a really hard time coming up with the concept for the video for sugar and then one day I woke up from an insane nightmare and was like holy fuck that’s the video,” he wrote.

“Sugar” was the second track on the collective’s fifth studio album, Ginger, which arrived in August.

Later this week, Brockhampton will kick f their international tour, starting with back-to-back performances at the Hollywood Palladium In Los Angeles on Friday (Dec. 13).
