Breonna Taylor: One Officer Involved In Her Murder Gets Fired

Brett Hankison has been fired from the police force after the murder Breonna Taylor.

Three months have passed and still, none the ficers involved in the killing Breonna Taylor have been arrested or charged. It looks like we’re finally making some progress on that though as one the ficers involved in her murder, Brett Hankison, has been fired from the police force.

Hankison was one the three ficers to fire his weapon during the deadly raid Breonna Taylor’s home on March 13.

Louisville Police Chief Robert Schroeder wrote a letter to Brett Hankison, explaining why he will no longer be employed as a policeman.

In the letter, the Police Chief claims that Hankison “displayed an extreme indifference to the value human life when he] wantonly and blindly fired 10 rounds into the apartment Breonna Taylor.”

He also calls Hankison out for firing through a patio door without knowing who or what was behind it.

The other two ficers, Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove, remain on administrative leave.

The Kentucky Attorney General claimed that he is making this case a top priority and that it will be looked into “thoroughly and fairly.”

While this isn’t much, it’s a start. Now, hopefully, he’s arrested and charged with murder.

Rest in peace, Breonna Taylor.
