Aaron Donald Isn’t Convinced Rob Gronkowski Is Retiring

Donald faced Gronkowski in the Super Bowl.

At this point, everyone knows that Rob Gronkowski has announced his retirement from the NFL and the New England Patriots. In just nine seasons, the tight end won three Super Bowl championships and cemented himself as one the best tight ends all time. He is surely headed for the Hall Fame and it’s definitely well-deserved. While Gronk has made his intentions clear, not everyone is so sure that he’s out football for good. TMZ Sports caught up with Los Angeles Rams defensive end Aaron Donald at the L.A. Sports Awards where he expressed some doubts about Gronk’s recent announcement.

“He’s retired right now …” Donald joked although he did add how good Gronk was. “Great player, had a great career. Won a couple rings — one the best to do it.”

Gronkowski made his announcement on Instagram Sunday, saying:

“Thank you for everyone accepting who I am and the dedication I have put into my work to be the best player I could be,” he added. “But now its time to move forward and move forward with a big smile knowing that the New England Patriots Organization, Pats Nation, and all my fans will be truly a big part my heart for rest my life. It was truly an incredible honor to play for such a great established organization and able to come in to continue and contribute to keep building success. To all my current and past teammates, thank you for making each team every year special to be apart . I will truly miss you guys. Cheers to all who have been part this journey, cheers to the past for the incredible memories, and a HUGE cheers to the uncertain whats next.”
