The Game Mourns Father’s Death

The Game is mourning the loss his father George Taylor, who reportedly died in his sleep earlier this month.

Taking to Instagram, the Compton MC shared his heartbreak. “I’m usually the STRONGEST person I know,” he captioned the childhood photo. “but this one is really breaking me down. I miss you dad.”

Taylor passed away in his Apple Valley, Calif. home earlier this month, according to TMZ. A relative found him unresponsive, a neighbor called 911, and he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The Game and his father have had their ups and downs throughout the years. In 2014, he opened up about their strained relationship on “Bloody Moon.” “My father left me when I was seven, at a home,” he rapped on the track. “Left me, but took his chrome / I looked up and blood was gone / Man, fuck it, guess in the world, I’m all alone.”

Last week, Game posted a video a candle in memory his father. “I lost my father,” he said in the clip. “I can’t sleep. Just a few days ago, about short a week. All these feelings inside. I cannot explain how there’s so much love and it turned into all this pain. I locked myself in the house. Guess I needed my space.

“Stopped waking up and looking in the mirror because every time I do, I see your face,” he added. “I ain’t just lose a father. I lost a friend. I’m the one that has to live with the fact that I’ll never see you again. We had some good times, we had a whole lot bad, but no matter what time it was, you never stopped being my dad.”
