If R. Kelly’s 33-part “Trapped In The Closet” opera didn’t clue listeners in to the fact the controversial crooner can be a tad long-winded at times, then his latest musical release certainly confirms it.
On Sunday (July 22), R. Kelly released a 19-minute song titled “I Admit” where he confesses he “done made some mistakes.”
Throughout the 19 minutes, the singer addresses some the recent allegations made against him, including one involving him running an alleged sex cult. On “I Admit,” he brushes f such allegations.
“Say I’m abusing these women. What the fuck, that’s some absurd shit. They brainwashed? Really? Kidnapped? Really? Can’t eat? Really? Real talk, that shit sound silly,” he sings.
Later he continues, singing, “How they gonna say I don’t respect these women … Take my career and turn it upside down because I admit] I’ve got some girlfriends.”
“Now, I admit that I got some girls that love me to pull they hair. And I admit they love me to talk dirty when I pull they hair. Some like me to spank ’em,” he adds in the next verse.
Kelly also addresses accusations pedophilia, denying those claims as well.
“I admit I fuck with all the ladies. That’s both older and younger ladies. But tell me how they call it pedophile because that shit,” he sings.
On “I Admit,” R. Kelly also reveals that he “can’t spell for shit” and credits his dyslexia for him opting to sign contracts he shouldn’t have. He also admits that he doesn’t own his music, but plans on regaining ownership.
Kelly also again speaks a family member sexually abusing him when he was a child.
R. Kelly concludes “I Admit” with this proclamation: “The only thing I have left is my voice. And now I have to use it for my protection because they left me no choice.”
