French Montana is ficially a U.S. citizen.
The rapper was sworn in at a ceremony in New Jersey on Wednesday morning (June 13). As part his citizenship, he can now vote in the 2020 election and get a U.S. passport.
According to TMZ, his citizenship was a lengthy process. He reportedly applied in February 2017 and had to take the Naturalization Oath Allegiance.
“Officially a citizen today thank u allah,” said French, who sang his own version the national anthem in a video.
Montana, who just collaborated with Remy Ma on “New Thang,” was born and raised in Morocco, but immigrated to the U.S. when he was 13.
