Don’t play with Gia Casey. That’s the lesson everyone learned after DJ Envy checked Desus Nice and The Kid Mero — the comedy duo from Viceland’s Desus & Mero — for disrespecting his wife nearly 18 years.
During an episode Desus & Mero, the two watched Envy and Casey’s interview on The View. Subsequently, they jokingly suggested that Casey stuck with Envy for so long out love for the money the famous disc jockey was making.
Chatting with The View‘s cast, Casey shared that she didn’t know her long-time companion’s celebrity side, only his home-life side. Desus Nice responded, “You knew them DJ Envy checks though.”
According to Envy, the insinuation “that Casey] was there for the check” was utterly disrespectful. So, when the comedians made it to The Breakfast Club, Envy started things f by demanding an apology.
