Chris Brown is sending Rihanna some birthday love. Taking to Instagram, the R&B crooner posted a childhood photo his ex-girlfriend with an all-caps message.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY @badgalriri,” he wrote.
The b-day greeting comes just a couple weeks after Brown suggested that they go on tour together, along with Beyoncé and Bruno Mars.
His message was greeted with mixed reactions from fans. While some were happy to see the caption, others noted their tumultuous history, as Brown assaulted Rihanna in 2009. Last year, Brown addressed the issue in his Welcome to My Life documentary. “That’s gonna haunt me forever,” he said.
Breezy wasn’t the only star to wish RiRi a happy birthday. Former foe Ciara also took to Twitter to send some birthday love. “Happy Birthday @rihanna,” she tweeted. “Remembering the 1st time we met. It’s been cool to see you kill it! Keep on soaring ma!”
In 2011, CiCi and RiRi engaged in an infamous Twitter feud. “Trust me Rihanna,” wrote Ciara. “u don’t want to see me on or f the stage.” Bad Gal replied: “Good luck with bookin that stage u speak .”
