On Sunday, July 21, President Joe Biden announced that he would not be seeking a second term.. While supporters were still catching their breath, he announced that he was endorsing his Vice President Kamala Harris for the gig, which was quickly met with widespread enthusiasm.

Taking to social media, President Biden said it was time for him to finish his term, and step aside. “While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote in a classy letter he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.”

About an hour later, Biden made it clear that as far as next up, he was strictly team Kamala Harris. “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” wrote Biden on X.

Social media quickly went up for Joe Biden, saluting for a job well done in the last three and half years. Also targeted was how mainstream media so quickly turned on Biden after a bad debate, chaos in the Democratic party and generally how horrible Trump is at everything, yet he gets a pass.
