R&B mode.
21 Savage is spending his days in quarantine with some good old-fashioned karaoke. The “a lot” rapper took to Instagram Live on Sunday morning to sing along to some R&B classics. While sitting at home, he entertained his followers with hit after hit.
He had the BeyHive buzzing with his covers Beyoncé’s “Me, Myself and I” and Destiny’s Child’s “Cater 2 U.” With a remote in hand, Savage took it back with Brandy’s 1994 hit “I Wanna Be Down,” and even flexed his falsetto on Usher’s “Burn.”
The Saint Laurent Don showed he’s a true R&B head with Aaliyah’s “Come Over,” Monica’s “So Gone,” and Lauryn Hill and D’Angelo’s “Nothing Even Matters.” And he didn’t need any help while belting Jhené Aiko’s recent hit “P*$$Y Fairy (OTW).” “Ni**a, I ain’t reading no lyrics,” he said. “I know this shit by heart.”
Savage, who’s readying the sequel to Savage Mode with Metro Boomin, is no stranger to R&B collaborations. He appeared on recent remixes to Normani’s “Motivation” and Alicia Keys’ “Show Me Love.”
