Warner Chappell Music has announced it has renewed its global publishing deal with producer MAG.
MAG is a frequent collaborator of Bad Bunny, producing 15 of the 23 tracks on his album Un Verano Sin Ti. The MAG produced tracks on that album have racked up an astounding 6.7 billion streams on Spotify alone.
Un Verano Sin Ti became the first all-Spanish album to top the year-end Billboard 200 chart as well as earn a nomination for Album of the Year and win Best Música Urbana Album at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
“Guy, Ryan, Katy, and the whole Warner Chappell team have been incredibly supportive over the past few years and I’m excited to continue building on our partnership,” adds MAG about continuing his publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music into the future and beyond.
“Over the past few years, MAG has helped push our culture forward with a genre-bending sound that will define our generation,” says Ryan Press, President, North America, WCM. “He has a gift for creating hits that go beyond language and bring people together, and all of us at Warner Chappell look forward to working with him as he takes the next step in his career.”
Brooklyn-born Puerto Rican-Dominican producer Marco ‘MAG’ Borrero was discovered and mentored by singer/songwriter Max Martin. In 2020, he executive produced bad Bunny’s Grammy Award-winning album, El Último Tour del Mundo, which made history as the first all-Spanish album to hit #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Shortly after, MAG debuted at the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 Producers chart and Latin Producers chart and #2 on its Latin songwriters chart. In 2022 he joined forces with Bad Bunny on the massively successful album Un Verano Sin Ti. Throughout his career, MAG has also collaborated with hitmakers like Rauw Alejandro, Eladio Carrion, Arcángel, Bebe Rexha, Imagine Dragons, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato.
