Trump’s Tweets Labeled "Potentially Misleading" By Twitter

Trump’s rant against mail-in voting on Twitter is labeled “potentially misleading.”

If you were on Twitter at any point today, the current president the United States was trending, per usual, along with the hashtag #GetTrumpOffTwitter. Though this had to do with a conspiracy theory surrounding the death a Scarborough staffer, Trump’s latest string tweets have also been labeled “potentially misleading” by Twitter themselves.

“There is NO WAY (ZERO!) that Mail-In Ballots will be anything less than substantially fraudulent. Mail boxes will be robbed, ballots will be forged & even illegally printed out & fraudulently signed. The Governor California is sending Ballots to millions people, anyone living in the state, no matter who they are or how they got there, will get one. That will be followed up with pressionals telling all these people, many whom have never even thought voting before, how, and for whom, to vote. This will be a Rigged Election. No way!” Trump said in a pair tweets.

Twitter’s new fact-checking feature flagged both tweets down as “potentially misleading” with link to a fact-checking page titled, “Trump falsely claimed that mail-in ballots would lead to ‘a Rigged Election.” A spokesperson for Twitter said, Trump’s tweets”contain potentially misleading information about voting processes and have been labeled to provide additional context around mail-in ballots.”

The page breaks down the unsubstantiated claims with news and collections tweets from other experts that debunk Trump’s claims, especially when it comes to mail-in voting leading to voter fraud.
