Stephen A. Smith Responds To Claims He Ran On Court During Embiid-Bledsoe Scrap

“Do I look that stupid?”

Just minutes into Thursday night’s showdown between the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks, Joel Embiid and Eric Bledsoe got involved in a little dodge-ball action, as Embiid chucked the ball at Bledsoe, who caught it and quickly returned fire right into Joel’s gut.

The scene escalated from there as the ficials, players on the court, and Stephen A. Smith converged to separate the two.

As it turns out, that wasn’t actually Stephen A. Smith – but so many people truly believed it was that the ESPN host took to twitter to set the record straight. In a video posted to twitter, Stephen A. explains:

“Look, it wasn’t me. It wasn’t me. I didn’t storm the court at the Wells Fargo Center. Yes, you might have seen a photo Allen Iverson giving me a hug, but me? I’m gonna get in between that pitbull that is Eric Bledsoe and that monster, that seven-footer that is Joel Embiid? Do I look that stupid?”

Smith would be wise to stay out any and all danger moving forward, as he is reportedly set to become ESPN’s highest-paid talent.

According to a report by The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand, the legendary “First Take” star could see his salary double from $5 million a year to $10 million annually once it comes time to sign his next contract.
