Sevyn Streeter is back.
After going independent, the R&B singer-songwriter returns with her sassy new single “Whatchusay,” the first release from her upcoming project Drunken Wordz x Sober Thoughtz. After getting burned in a relationship, Sevyn gets revenge on an ex who betrayed her.
“‘Whatchusay’ is about the relationship where you hold someone down and then they dip on you… even when you did well by them when they were at their worst,” she told Rap-Up. “It’s that inner voice that stands up for yourself and confronts that person that had the audacity to leave when you were down.”
Along with the song, Sevyn is set to debut the “bold, gritty, and sexy” video that pays homage to her favorite era. “It’s an ode to the ’90s videos that I love so much!” said Sevyn.
“Whatchusay” marks the first new music from Sevyn since last year’s “Yernin.” She has big plans for 2020 including Drunken Wordz x Sober Thoughtz, her first project since her 2017 debut Girl Disrupted. She is also planning a tour and a reality show based on her life.
