Women (and men) all over the United States were outraged this week when Alabama signed into law the Alabama Human Life Protection Act, making it illegal for women to get abortions even in cases rape and incest.
Rihanna is among those blasting Alabama Governor Kay Ivey for allowing such a bill to pass.
On Thursday morning (May 16), the pop superstar headed to Instagram and posted the faces 25 white men who helped make the bill possible.
“take a look,” she wrote in the caption. “these are the idiots making decisions for WOMEN in America. Governor Kay Ivey…SHAME ON YOU!!!!”
Ivey shared the bill Twitter on Wednesday (May 15), citing Alabama citizens’ belief in God for the decision.
“Today, I signed into law the Alabama Human Life Protection Act,” she tweeted alongside a photo herself signing the paperwork. “To the bill’s many supporters, this legislation stands as a powerful testament to Alabamians’ deeply held belief that every life is precious & that every life is a sacred gift from God.”

The attached website further explained Ivey’s actions.
“In all meaningful respects, this bill closely resembles an abortion ban that has been a part Alabama law for well over 100 years,” the statement reads. “As today’s bill itself recognizes, that longstanding abortion law has been rendered ‘unenforceable as a result the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade.’
“No matter one’s personal view on abortion, we can all recognize that, at least for the short term, this bill may similarly be unenforceable. As citizens this great country, we must always respect the authority the U.S. Supreme Court even when we disagree with their decisions.”
The statement continued, “Many Americans, myself included, disagreed when Roe v. Wade was handed down in 1973. The sponsors this bill believe that it is time, once again, for the U.S. Supreme Court to revisit this important matter, and they believe this act may bring about the best opportunity for this to occur.”
According to CBS, the Alabama Human Life Protection Act is the “most restrictive” abortion bill in the U.S.
