The Recording Academy has teamed up with the Quincy Jones-backed blockchain company OneOf to offer Grammy NFTs in April.

The Grammy NFTs collection officially launches today with a free NFT available to all fans. There is also a single ‘golden ticket’ NFT that includes all-inclusive travel for two to the 64th Annual Grammy Awards in Las Vegas on April 3.

Over the next three weeks, OneOf will release additional NFTs as part of the Grammy NFTs collection. These NFTs feature artists from diverse backgrounds and feature OneOf’s mission to support women and POC in the web3 space. Artists included in the project are:

  • Emonee LaRussa – A two-time, Emmy-winning director and animator who has worked with Kanye West, Lil Nas X, and Megan Thee Stallion.
  • Andre Oshea – a 3D animator who has worked with Adult Swim, Snapchat, Tidal, and John Legend.

Each artist will have a week devoted to their drop and will include multiple tiers of rarity and single-token OneOf auction items. A portion of all proceeds will go to the Recording Academy’s scholarship fund for supporting artists.

OneOf x Grammy Awards NFTs Collection Drop Schedule

  • March 7 – Free NFT
  • March 15 – The Emonee Collection
  • March 22 – The Andre Collection

OneOf is built on the Tezos blockchain, which means minting NFTs on the platform uses two million times less energy than other proof-of-work networks. OneOf is dedicated to charitable causes and allows artists to use the platform to donate to charities of their choice.

“We are thrilled for this partnership with OneOf and to be dropping these exclusive NFT collections leading up to the 64th Grammy Awards,” says Adam Roth, SVP Partnerships & Business Development of the Recording Academy.

“To be on the forefront of technology while simultaneously serving the music community with a new and innovative platform is only the beginning of what NFTs are doing to change the musical landscape and to generate more income for music creators.

OneOf also recently announced a partnership with Warner Music Group. That partnership will see OneOf minting exclusive NFTs for a range of artists in the WMG catalog. In December, a previously unreleased recording of Whitney Houston at age 17 went for $1 million – the highest-priced music auction on the Tezos blockchain so far.
