Los Angeles, CA – Although Chuck D recently said Flavor Flav would have one year to “get his act together,” Public Enemy has just announced he’s no longer part the groundbreaking Hip Hop group. In a statement sent to HipHopDX, Chuck D and company made it abundantly clear their time with Flav has come to end.
“Public Enemy and Public Enemy Radio will be moving forward without Flavor Flav,” the statement reads. “‘We thank him for his years service and wish him well.”
Public Enemy Radio — Chuck D, DJ Lord, Jahi P.E. 2.0 and the S1Ws — are performing at the Bernie Sanders rally in Los Angeles on Sunday (March 1), which proved to be a point contention for Flav. His legal team quickly issued a statement, blasting Public Enemy’s involvement (despite it being a Public Enemy Radio performance).
The free event is being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center with Public Enemy Radio taking the stage at 6 p.m. PT. Along with the announcement, Public Enemy Radio also revealed a new album called Loud Is Not Enough will arrive next month.
The Public Enemy Radio performance can be viewed livestream here.
