PARTYNEXTDOOR Goes After BET Awards In Strange Rant: "I Am BET"

PARTYNEXTDOOR earned zero nominations at the BET Awards, sparking his frustration with the network.

There is no tip-toeing around the fact that PARTYNEXTDOOR is one the most influential artists his generation. He’s achieved feats that most artists can only dream , earning recognition from Drake, Rihanna, and more the greats. However, after the nominations were announced for the BET Awards and his name was nowhere to be found, the Canadian singer had to voice his opinion.

Just like Lil Uzi Vert, PARTYNEXTDOOR seems to believe that he’s too special and creative for BET to recognize his talent, calling them out for the lack nominations this year.

“When did black entertainment television get so complex and forget Partynextdoor is the rnb artist our generation?” asked the star in a since-deleted tweet. “Is it because I don’t wanna be friends? Is it because i put value in the art instead people? Is it because it’s not the popular opinion? I am BET I am Complex.”

If PND found more value in the art than people, wouldn’t he not give a shit about awards and accolades?

He went on to claim that he has influenced the sound R&B, which is not really too debatable. He has been one the biggest artists in the last decade.

“Imagine me making & inspiring the greatest rnb records our time,” he wrote.

PARTYNEXTDOOR did not earn any nominations at the BET Awards, despite his album PARTYMOBILE dropping this year. Instead, the R&B categories include Chris Brown, Jacquees, Anderson .Paak, The Weeknd, Khalid, and Usher.
