Onyx Recalls East Coast/West Coast War with 2Pac

According to Complex, the NYC-based rap group Onyx experienced one the worst fall-fs “in rap history.” Breaking out in the late ’80s, the group’s claim-to-fame came after their hit “Slam.” Following their debut LP, they gave hip hop albums like All We Got Iz Us and Wakedafucup. Onyx even graced ASAP Ferg’s debut studio album, Trap Lord.

They’ve been quiet recently, but during an interview with DJ Vlad, Onyx’s Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz brought fans back to the “height the east coast/west coast” rivalry. The New York natives talked about their relationship with the late Tupac Shakur, before touching on their infamous performance “Walk in New York” at Los Angeles’ House Blues.
