Miley Cyrus Receives Backlash For Photoshoot On Near-Endangered Joshua Tree

Miley clearly didn’t think this one through.

Miley Cyrus has only recently come back on the grid announcing a new album that’s said to have some hip-hop elements. “There’s psychedelic elements, there’s pop elements, there’s more hip-hop-leaning records,” she explained. “You know, in the same way I like to kind just be genderless, I like feeling genre-less.”

While she’s readying fans for new music, she’s also making others angry since her recent photo shoot that sees her posing on the near-endangered Joshua Trees. The “Malibu” singer shared a handful images on her Instagram and while she looks happy and cute, people can’t help but to remind her that the tree she’s perched on can’t handle her weight.

“Hanging, climbing, sitting, swinging, standing, leaning, touching, hugging, supporting your yoga poses, hanging hammocks on these PROTECTED succulents are all violations County and City law,” one person commented. “Not to mention incredibly dangerous for the Joshua trees themselves. Any sort weight or pressure on the branch a Joshua tree an cause it to break or fall over completely.”

While Miley has yet to comment back to defend her actions, she has disabled her comments on her images in the meantime. Only time will tell if Miley gets some sort fine for playing around on the delicate trees.
