Meek Mill Blasts ‘Racist’ Hotel for Threatening Arrest

Meek Mill is putting a Las Vegas hotel on blast over claims racism.

During his visit to The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas on Saturday (May 25), the Philly rapper was stopped by security, who would not let him enter the property. According to TMZ, security told Meek that if he got out the car, he would be arrested.

“At this time, with the information we have, we’re refusing to do business with you. We have a right to do that,” said the hotel’s security ficer, who told him he was “trespassing” on private property.

The security guard says that the decision to ban Meek is “way bigger than me,” before telling him that he will be “subject to arrest for a misdemeanor.” “I’m gonna be arrested for what? For being a rapper?” Meek Mill asked.

Meek, who was at the hotel for a Mustard concert, filmed the encounter and called out the hotel for their “racist” actions. “If you come from our culture you should never step foot in the cosmopolitan hotel they just really racist as hell …. something really has to be done in Las Vegas what they doing to black people!” he tweeted.

“They telling black rappers they are banned from properties they own without incident … they just told me I was trespassing and I will be arrested I stepped in that hotel once at a jayz party without incident!”

Meek’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, tells TMZ: “We have learned that the Cosmopolitan maintains a list African American recording artists who should be denied access for no other reason than than their culture and skin color. Such course conduct constitutes discrimination per se, in violation state and federal law, and exposes you to significant monetary damages.”

The letter also threatens legal action. “We urge you to promptly issue an apology to Mr. Williams and grant him immediate access. In the event you fail to heed this one and only warning, we intend to pursue all legal recourse against you.”

In statement to 3 News Las Vegas, The Cosmopolitan said, “As a matter company policy, we do not comment on legal matters. Our guests’ safety and security always remains our top priority.”
