New York, NY – Last week, a rumor spread online claiming Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans got into a fight at a party in The Hamptons hosted by Diddy.
With the real incident between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj playing out at New York Fashion Week and circulating on social media around the same time, many people didn’t bother to check the facts about the R&B singers.
Now, Blige has cleared the air and put an end to the rumor. The multi-platinum-selling singer made an appearance at New York Fashion Week and debunked the Evans fight tale while speaking to Page Six.
“Of course that was made up,” she said. “I was shooting a movie in Louisiana . . . I just got here today.”
According to Heavy.com, a source in Diddy’s camp also confirmed the story was “completely fabriciated.”
Evans hasn’t addressed the rumor publicly, but a representative for her told HollywoodLife the rumor was “totally false.”
The rep had “no idea how this rumor started” and noted that “Puffy didn’t even have a party.”
